About Walküre

Walküre studios was originally concieved by Autraya and Sweetdeily when we first started editing and thought 'what's with all these people having studios, damnit? Where's ours?' We argued for about a week back and forward as to what we would call a studio should we make one. This arguement barely ceased when we finally settled on Walküre- as we then had to debate about the spelling. Walküre is the german spelling (also comes from the german play about valkyries aptly named, walküre,) for the norse word Valkyrie. Since Valkyrie is a longer word to spell, and ümlouts are so awesome, we went with walküre studios in the end.

So, yeah, I suppose you're curious about what a walküre is? If you watch too much mecha anime, then it's a mecha or fighter plane that looks pretty cool. If you follow norse mythology, then a walküre is a maiden who descends to men on the battlefield and fights along side them- should the warrior die in battle, the walküre will carry his soul off to valhalour (sp) and take care of him until ragnarok comes. Either version works for us. We just thought the name was apropriate.

So what makes our studio unique or different to any number of other studios?
Hmm, I think both Autraya and I have an intense sense of plot and theme in AMVs. As a result, all of the members of our studio have this one requirement, a video should have meaning and feel to it- you can toss as many effects into it as you want, but if there's no point its hollow and empty. But that's mostly what we look for and enjoy finding. Each of our members have a unique talent concerning story or theme, so check them out!
